ROTW – The Stranglers – Nice ‘N’ Sleazy

Found on The Stranglers‘ 1978 release, “Black & White”, “Nice ‘N’ Sleazy” was the stand out single from a strong third album. The Men in Black are one of my all time favourite bands and tracks like “Tank“, “Toiler On The Sea” and “In The Shadows” all sound better when played on black & white vinyl!  Scary stuff.

With JJ Burnel’s driving bass-line and mousacheod Dave Greenfield’s squelching synths, The Stranglers were way ahead of their time …….. in fact they may have invented Dub Step!

PS. you’ve just gotta love Peder Powell’s segue!

Classic review and heaps better than the crap on tv. Stranglers on white vinyl…… have to check it out on ebay (or the attic at G and M’s). Excellent Mikey – loving the blog! Great idea going thru the old vinyl for inspiration and memories. Off now to order a ladder off ebay to get into the attics.
